Happy Place – Mixing Stamp Sets

Hello my crafty lovelies,

I appreciate that you are here, thank you. Do you usually tend to make cards or page layouts with products that all go together, from the same set of stamps & dies or all one suite of products/release? That is how I create 97% of the time but sometimes I like to mix and match, it really opens up the possibilities and that is what I did here.

I used 3 different stamp sets, 3 different sets of dies and one pad of paper to create this trendy scene. The end result gives me the warm fuzzies and I hope the intended recipient will feel the same as well.

I started by creating a faux wall on the card base. I used Painted Butterflies patterned paper by Catherine Pooler. All of the products are by Catherine Pooler Designs.

I colored and die cut the cutie kitty with the plant from Just Roll With It stamp & die set.

I used a technique called swinking (swiping ink) to color my paper with Buttercream ink and then die cut the hanging planter stand from that for that natural looking color of macrame. Using a piece of the patterned paper I cut to size perfectly for the wood looking portion of the planter and then colored the sides of that piece with a brown Copic. Often times when cutting patterned paper the white interior of the paper color will show so by coloring the edges brown it now matched and was no longer noticeable. I also cut 2 small pieces from the brown strip of paper to resemble open shelving.

Floral Fiction stamp set & dies just arrived this week in my Deluxe Club Sursee (monthly subscription) and how perfect was that for this card?! I colored and fussy cut out 3 of the book spines.

Above the books went the tiny plant from Just Roll With It stamp set. I altered the image slightly to suit.

Lastly I colored 2 planters with copics from the Planted stamp set and die cut them out.

The sentiment is from the Green Thumb stamp set, I inked that up in Macchiato to match the brown of the open shelving. Then it was time to put all of the elements together and create a little scene.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the process.
