Hello my crafty lovelies,
I am very thankful you are here. There are many crafting powders out there and some are geared towards multi-media, well, lets be honest, probably most of them are. But I’m not really a multi-media artist, I mean … I have tried it and I don’t mind it but I am a card maker at heart. I love using powders in my cardmaking. It seems to me that ink blending, stamping, coloring, stenciling, foiling, embossing, water coloring, die cutting … these are the popular techniques that you will find a combination of on most cards made by main stream card makers. It’s not common to find powders on cards unless the card maker really enjoys multi-media crafting as well. Of course, these are just my observations. But I happen to love using powders on my cards, there is a wide variety of techniques that can be used and it gives the cards a different feel and visual than what is ‘normal’ in the card making world. Below is an example of what I mean.
I started by flicking Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals on pieces of thick smooth paper and then activating them by spraying water onto them. The powders often have an element of shimmer and shine and by using smooth paper the shine stays on top of the paper and gets better results than using cardstock in my experience.
From those pieces of paper I then die cut with the Sunny Lane Florals dies by Scrapbook.com.

I laid out the flowers in their layers.

After gluing the flowers together it was time to cut the greenery. I used various shades of teal and green and mixed and matched them when it came to the final layout.

After placing the flowers and greenery in their final layout, I then stamped the sentiment from the Kindly stamp set by Catherine Pooler. The teal lace oval die is called Fancy Loop Dies and is also By Catherine Pooler Designs.

After stamping the sentiment I went over it with a Gelly Roll Starburst gel pen for added sparkle and popped two of the flowers up for dimension, framed the main panel with a piece of teal cardstock and then popped that panel up onto the card base.

Below is a little video of the final card, pictures don’t show the shimmer and shine of those gorgeous Lindy’s Magical Powders the way that it shimmers in real life.
I hope you’ve found my photos and video helpful and hope you have so much fun experimenting with Lindy’s Magical Powders.
